Fuel tank bund alarms for diesel, AdBlue and oil tanks.
Bund alarms provide the tank owner with greater knowledge about the status of their tank contents by warning them of bund leaks and excess rainwater within the tank’s bund. A fuel tank bund alarm provides convenience and peace of mind and is usually considered as a standard piece of equipment on many fuel storage tanks, required for environmental purposes. Different options are available depending upon the user’s requirements, including a mains or battery-powered tank bund alarm. Users can also pick the bund alarms based on their application as diesel fuel tank, AdBlue and heating oil bund alarms are available.
CTS Mains Multi-Compartment Fuel Tank Alarm
The CTS Mains Operated Multi-Compartment Fuel Tank Alarm system has three functions; to detect and warn of a tank overfill, a high/low liquid level and a bund leak. If this fuel tank alarm identifies any of these issues, the channel in question will light up on the alarm’s screen, combined with an alarm sounder and flashing orange strobe, which provides the user with a clear warning of the activated tank state. Each channel can be configured in any of the three functions High, Low or Bund, enabling the complete customisation of these fuel tank alarms based upon the user’s requirements with a very simple set of electrical jumpers.
Options are available complete with three relays, to allow external equipment to be connected to each channel of the tank level alarm such as building management system for remote monitoring. This level and bund alarm also has the additional feature of controlling the pump from the relays (if fitted). When the fuel storage tank contents are ‘low’, the pump switches on and stays on until ‘high’ is reached. This is commonly used for ensuring generator day tanks do not run empty.
The CTS Mains Fuel Tank Level Alarm box has undergone a redesign for the convenience of the tank manufacturer/installer. It benefits from the same functionality the market knows and loves, but now with external mounting lugs for installation without opening up the tank alarm box, captive screws to prevent accidentally dropping and losing them in the bund and improved cable gland positioning.
If you require a tank level alarm for something other than diesel or light oil, we also supply a water and chemical alarm probe, and a high viscosity oil tank level probe – which is also suitable for AdBlue as well as high viscosity oils. Please see the accessories table for more information.

CTS Battery Multi-Compartment Fuel Tank Alarm
The CTS Battery Operated Multi-Compartment Fuel Tank Alarm system has three functions; to detect and warn of a fuel storage tank overfill, a high/low liquid level and a bund leak. If the tank level alarm identifies that any of these states have occurred, the channel in question will illuminate on the alarm’s screen, and a loud siren and flashing red light will go off. When its battery is low, this level bund alarm will sound a single beep every minute to alert the user of this.
Thanks to being battery-powered, these fuel tank alarms are designed to be installed on isolated or portable systems, and each channel can be configured allowing the alarm to be customised by the installer. Options are available that come with three relays, allowing additional equipment to be connected to the tank level alarm such as larger alarm systems or building management systems for remote monitoring.

CTS Single Channel Fuel Tank Alarm
The CTS single channel fuel tank alarm system provides the user with the choice of setting the alarm to alert of either a high level, low level or bund leak depending upon their requirements. This level and bund alarm is a simple and cost effective solution when the user only requires to be alerted of one scenario, therefore making the multi-zone tank level alarm over-specified.
The single channel fuel tank alarm has a clear, descriptive seven segment LED display that informs the user of the activated tank state. It features a test button that will activate the 90dB sounder and flash the display showing the current configuration of the tank level alarm, and a mute button to silence the sounder.
This main powered version fuel tank alarm has the additional feature of a volt-free relay for connecting the fuel storage tank alarm to another piece of equipment on-site such as a building management system, or another mains powered single channel alarm allowing the alarm status to monitored remotely for example in the office. Whilst commonly used as a diesel tank alarm, it is also suitable for use with a range of fluids such as water, waste oil and chemicals (see accessories table for other tank level probes).

CTS ATEX Approved Fuel Tank Alarm
The ATEX Approved Fuel Tank Alarm system is designed for alerting the user of a high fluid level and that there is fluid within the bund, which may indicate a leak or rain water ingress. ATEX certified to Zone 1, this tank level alarm is suitable for tanks containing flammable liquids, provided that the probe used is suitable.
This ATEX tank alarm is battery powered for use on portable installations or sites where mains power is inaccessible. The bund alarm benefits from a flashing red LED & 95db alarm which sounds to alert the user to a problem continuously for 120 seconds followed by a periodic beep for 60 minutes. This fuel tank level alarm has test battery, test alarm and alarm cancel functions for ease of use.
We offer a version that comes as standard with fuel tank probe for diesel, kerosene and JET A1 tanks, and a version without probe for other fluids such as petrol using a third party ATEX probe with solid stem.

CTS AdBlue™ Tank Bund Alarm
The CTS AdBlue™ Tank Bund Alarm is an economy, entry level, battery powered AdBlue™ tank alarm system for alerting the user to fluid being detected between the inner tank and the outer bund. If only a bund alert is needed for your tank, this bund alarm is a simple, cost-effective solution and doesn’t involve the other warnings associated with a fuel tank level alarm. A red LED will flash and a 90db alarm will sound to alert the user to fluid being detected in the bund – which can be caused by a tank ruputure/leak or rainwater collecting in the bund – meaning your bund will need cleaning and/or emptying.
This battery powered AdBlue™ bund alarm allows 72 hours of full alarm mode, making it ideal for unmanned sites and those with site closure on weekends.
Further features include a weatherproof enclosure and test and alarm mute buttons to silence the sounder.

CTS Economy Fuel Tank Bund Alarm
The CTS Economy Tank Bund Alarm is an entry level, battery powered bunded fuel tank alarm system designed to alert of the presence of fluid between the inner tank and its outer bund. Essentially, its purpose is to detect and warn that either the inner tank has ruptured and is leaking, or that there is excess rain water within the tank’s bund. This is a simple and cost effective solution if only a bund alert is required, and the customer is not concerned with being warned of a tank level scenario. Upon activation, a red LED will flash and a 90db alarm will sound to warn the user that the tank’s bund needs to be cleared and checked whether there is a leak.
This fuel tank alarm, which comes in a weatherproof enclosure, features a test button that will activate the sounder to check the battery and a mute button to silence the sounder. Thanks to its simple operation, the battery will last in excess of 72 hours in full alarm mode, and approximately 2 years when in standby, making it ideal for sites that aren’t always manned.
